We will be learning how to write narratives. We will be reading and looking at different fairy tales to see how they are written.
Please read and share fairy tales at home and encourage your child to talk about the structure.
Beginning – Orientation- Setting, characters etc (who, when, where, what, why)
Middle – Complication
End – Resolution

Encourage your child to plan and write stories at home. We would love to hear their stories!
Book Description:
When the Cat in the Hat steps in on the mat, Sally and her brother are in for a roller-coaster ride of havoc and mayhem!
The Cat can rescue them from a dull rainy day, but it means lots of thrills and spills along the way.
Today we wrote about the time the cat in the hat came to our house.
We did our planning while listening to the story. We drew and wrote keywords as we were listening.
We then had to use our plan to help us write.
Once we had finished we had to revise and edit our writing. We looked at our punctuation and made sure to use WOW words.
Finally when we finished revising and conferencing with our teacher, we got to publish our writing.
A punctuation activity we like to do in class.
We do it a little different so please ask your child to explain it to you.
Instruct your partner to make a paper lantern.
