This week we have been focussing on the structure of a recount.
Today we went on a little adventure around the school, looking for things we have not noticed before.
We got our clip boards and began our adventure.
Making sand angels.
It is very important to motivate students, to get them to want to write. They need to know there is a purpose for writing.
This week we had fun making paper doll chains. Students had to listen and follow instructions to make their paper chain.
Students then had to write about their experience.
While students were making their chains, I recorded the vocab that they were using. The vocab was then available for them to use in their writing.

We use the 100 common words list when we are writing.
We are writing recounts.
A recount tells about something that happened in the past. The details in a recount can include what happened, who was involved, where it took place, when it happened and why it occurred.
